Our Daily Challenge
Friday 12th June 2020 - 30 Days Wild Challenge - Nature Hunt
The Wildlife Trust are running their 30 Days Wild campaign, where they want you to do one wild thing a day throughout the whole month. They are calling them 'Random Acts of Wildness'! See full information at https://action.wildlifetrusts.org/page/57739/petition/1
To get you started, here's a nature hunt. Can you find these things out and about? Remember not to pick anything which is still growing!
Thursday 11th June 2020 - Bookmark Challenge
Today we would like you to design and make a bookmark inspired by your favourite books or authors. Use ideas from the books you have read to help you. For example, you may want to include your favourite teacher or spells from Hogwarts if you're a Harry Potter fan. You could combine characters from different Roald Dahl stories and imagine what would happen if they really met.
When you are done, why not curl up with a book and use your bookmark when you finish reading? We would love to see your creations at email@example.com .
Wednesday 10th June 2020 - STEM Jumping Frog Challenge
Today we would like you to explore static electricity by trying our Jumping Frog Challenge! For full instructions, see https://www.science-sparks.com/jumping-frogs/ or the challenge sheet below. Do different materials change how the frog jumps? Were your predictions right? How can you make it a fair test?
Let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org !
Tuesday 9th June 2020 - Ocean Challenge
Yesterday was World Ocean Day. Today, your challenge is to find more about the Ocean and present your work to us. Use the link https://worldoceanday.school/ for ideas. Why not try the 'Pollution Problems' workshop and complete a single use plastic survey around your home? Or why not try one of the learning, investigating or making lessons at https://encounteredu.com/steam-activities/guide-to-home-school-with-common-seas ?
If you are feeling inspired, you could even set your own plastic challenge for July (see https://www.mcsuk.org/campaigns/plastic-challenge-home).
We would love to see what you have learned and how you have got involved at email@example.com !
