Welcome to Comberton Primary School

Reception Intake 2020

We are pleased to welcome you and your family as members of our school community and look forward to a happy and successful association.

I know that the closure to schools will have brought many questions (and worries) about your child starting school with us in September and I wanted to reassure you that we will make this as supportive as we can.

At present school looks very different as we only have a small number of children on site, taught in small bubbles. We have not yet been provided with any further information about how we are expected to organise all our pupils returning to school in September but have started to ‘draft’ some plans to help us prepare – I will share these with you but please understand these may have to change.

  1. Miss McIntyre, our Early Years Leader, will contact you to introduce herself and answer any questions you may have.
  2. We have created a ‘Reception Intake 2020’ page on our school website which will allow you to see pictures of some of the learning experiences your child will be involved in – you can share these with your child and start to discuss what they can look forward to
  3. We have uploaded our starting school documents to this webpage. Please do not print these as they are purely for your information and paper copies will be provided in September.
  4. We are planning (if possible) induction meetings for parents on either Wednesday 2nd or Thursday 3rd September at 6.00pm (more details will follow in July)
  5. Your child will be invited to visit us in the week commencing Monday 7th September to meet their friends, teachers and explore their new classroom.
  6. We are hoping the children will start with us on Monday 14th September 2020 – depending on further announcements from the government this may be full or part time.

This page, and the documents available to download, will help you and your child prepare for September - please share them with your child and discuss the adults they will meet, the activities they will enjoy and what they can start looking forward to.
