New Building!

Nearly done!

We are so delighted to have our wonderful new school all finished on the inside.  The children are absolutely loving the 6 new classrooms, 3 new group rooms and new toilets.  There is a real sense of pride as the children walk around this amazing new space.  The children in years 4,5 and 6  now have a real sense of progression as they move up through school and extra touches such as their lockers, help increase independence and begin to prepare the children for the transition to high school.

We are really excited for the ongoing developments to our outdoor space which is phase 2!

Sensory Garden Designs

As the building gets closer to the finish date, we are beginning to explore how we will develop our outside areas further.  Following the removal of the mobile classroom blocks in Summer 2024, we will be left with lots of additional outdoor space that we can develop to enhance our children's learning experiences.

We intend to develop one area into a large sensory garden, complete with spaces for growing fruit, vegetable and flowers, seating areas for reflection and for reading, and areas to explore and connect with the outside world as part of a spiritual experience. Feedback from parents reflects that they feel that such a space would be a real asset to our school.

Our PTFA are supporting through the exploration of grant funding opportunities and they have enlisted the help of our School Council as part of the design process. What a wonderful job they did!  We cant wait to see where this takes us!

Building Project Summer 2023

We are delighted to share that Comberton Primary School has been allocated funding by the Local Authority to replace our 3 temporary mobile accommodation blocks with a new two-storey building on the front of our school.

Years 4 , 5 and 6 are currently housed in mobile blocks that have been at the school since it expanded from a first to a primary school.  These will be removed, creating lots more outdoor space and will be replaced with a 6 classroom block which attaches to our main building.  There will be additional spaces developed for group work as well as improvements to our front entrance so that we can give our visitors the welcome they deserve.

We are so excited for the opportunities that this will bring to develop our learning environment even further for our children.

In the meantime, there will be limited disruption for the children in school as the mobile blocks will remain until completion. We can't wait to welcome you to our new facilities which should be completed by Easter 2024.
