Summer 1 - 2026
Platinum again!
We are very proud to share that we have achieved Platinum Level School Games again! This is the highest level of achievement that can be earned and this award reflects all the hard work that is put into providing pupils with such a wide range of sporting and extra-curricular opportunities, developing leadership skills and upskilling staff.
Comberton had another exciting engagement day focusing on Golf! All children were able to participate in some active Golf sessions which they thoroughly enjoyed!
10 Yr 2 were involved in a Cricket Festival held at Stourport Sports Club. The children got to participate in a range of Cricket activities. They all had a great time especially as it was the day after our Cricket Engagement Day!
All children were involved in a Cricket Engagement Day led by Worcestershire Cricket Foundation. Children listened to assemblies promoting Cricket and the local Cricket Clubs they can get involved in and then had some taster sessions which all children thoroughly enjoyed!
Our Year 5 & 6 Netball girls had a fantastic opportunity to go and see Birmingham Panthers vs London Pulse at Worcester Arena. The girls were super excited, behaved exceptionally and had a really lovely afternoon! They even got to meet some of players and get their signatures after the game!

Spring 2 - 2026
Our Netball Team had great success coming 1st in the Netball Festival! Well done girls!

Our Y5 and Y6's had a great morning competing in a range of Sportshall Athletic activities. They had lots of fun competing in a range of activities!
Our Y6 girls Football Team competed in the U11's Premier League Tournament at Wolves Training Ground. The girls did unbelievably well and were a credit to the school. They finished joint 3rd, only being 1 point away from 2nd! Well done girls!
We sent a team of year 6’s to a Dodgeball event against other schools across the Wyre Forest as part of the School Sport’s Partnership. They had lots of fun, represented school to the highest standard and won their group. Amazing!

Spring 1 - 2026
The children from our Learning Hub participated in a Primary Panathalon including a range of different activities. These included: parachute popcorn, polybat, precision bean bag and new age kurling. The children had a fantastic time and were a credit to the school.
Our year 1’s had a super time taking part in a multiskills festival with children from across the Wyre Forest today. They represented Comberton so well and loved every minute!
Our Girls Football team took part in the Primary Schools Cup Final and we came 4th out of 5th. The girls showed great determination! What a great achievement to get through to the Finals!
20 Y6 children have had Playleader Training so that they are able to lead activities on the playground at lunchtimes.
A selection of children went to Baxter College to participate in a range of inclusive sports.
Autumn 2 - 2025
Our U11's competed in a KS2 Cross Country event. They all did well. The girls came 4th and the boys came 5th.
A selection of our Y3 children went to a Teambuilding event at Haybridge High School.
Autumn 1 - 2025
This term, Comberton have been very busy attending a range of sporting events.
Football Success!
On 20th Oct our Y5/6 Football team competed in a Football Festival and did exceedingly well coming joint 2nd out of 9 different schools.
On 23rd Oct our Y5/6 Football team competed again where they got to the final and drew. This then went to a penalty shootout where again they drew so finishing with a sudden death penalty where they unfortunately lost. The boys were praised on their impeccable behaviour and attitude, resulting in other schools staying to cheer them on. A great success for our boys, well done!
On 25th Nov our Y5/6 Girls Football team competed. They played a total of games, winning 4 of these putting them 2nd in the group. Their behaviour and attitude was a really credit to the school! Well done girls!
Year 2 have attended the Multi-skills Festival at King Charles where they particpated in a range of different activities having great fun!
Year 4 have attended a Tag Rugby Festival which although wasn't competitive, the children showed great play against 4 different schools.
Year 6 have had Kidderminster Harriers in for the half-term for their healthkick programme.
