We are delighted to welcome you and your family as members of our school community and look forward to a happy and successful association.
Hopefully some of the information on this page (as well as the other pages of this website) will answer some of your questions and help you discover the range of wonderful activities our children experience at our school.
Please also contact the school on 01562 754704 and ask to speak to either our Headteacher (Mrs Frost) or our Early Years Leader (Miss McIntyre) to find out more.
Applying for a place at Comberton for September 2024
From 1st September 2023 you can make an application on-line for our school, before the closing date of 15th January 2024. This is completed via the following website and not directly through school.
What time will my child’s school day be?
All pupils will start at 8.45am and finish at 3.15pm. Children may ride their bike or scooter to school, which can be left in the area at the side of our Reception classrooms.
What will my child wear for school?
All pupils will be expected to wear school uniform as normal. The only difference to this is that on the day that your child has PE we are asking that they come to school in their PE kit (proper school PE kit expected).
What will my child need for school?
Your child will need a packed lunch (if they are not having a hot dinner), a water bottle and their book bag (Reception – Year 3) or a drawstring bag (Years 4 - 6).
What will my child eat?
Your child may either bring a packed lunch from home or order a hot meal. Our three-week menu meals are available to order via ParentPay. The meals are free for children in Reception, Years 1 and 2 as well as for children eligible for Free School Meals and will be charged at £3.00 for any other child who would like to order one. All children must bring their own water bottles to school.
Is my child expected to attend every day?
Your child must come to school in September and the usual rules will apply, including:
- We must record attendance and follow up on any absences.
- We will be able to fine children with poor attendance.
How will Before or After School care work?
Wrap-around care will be offered from 7.45am – 8.45am and 3.15pm - 5.30pm.
This will operate from 7:45am. Children can be dropped at any point up to the start of the school day and will be taken to class at the appropriate time. This facility costs £4.00 per day and there is no need to book (parents may make payments on the day or can pre-book a child). Children will be provided with a drink and a light snack.
After School Club
This will operate from 3.15pm until 5:30pm each day and the children will be provided with a drink and light snack.
